3 years after her violent murder, Margret (Francesca Harper) continues to walk the earth despite missing several vital organs. Upon informing her partner of her condition, their lives are thrown into disarray. Malevolent visions begin to follow them everywhere they go. A dead stranger could be Margret's only hope at a peaceful existence. Based on Cordelia William's unpublished semi-autobiographical novel. Oz (2000)

Oz reimagines the classic tale of the Wizard of Oz with a unique twist, its setting. Oz 2000 was created to bring L. Frank Baum's world and characters to an alien audience, as well as to the 21st century. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, it was cursed with a nightmarish production. This included actors getting shot out of airlocks and various gravitational mishaps that come with shooting a film out in wild space. If the bad production wasn't enough, Oz suffered an equally tragic fate at the box office, making back only 20% percent of its 60 million dollar budget. Fortunately, the film itself is a wonderful joy to witness, and shines as a technicolor celebration of all galactic life.

Best in the Class (1990)

Released internationally as "Deathinately", this teen horror is about a young scientist who's obsession with a former classmate is taken too far. The film launched the careers of its two lead stars as well as serving as another excellent skeleton character portrayal. Julia's transformation from the average popular teenager into 90's Frankenstein's monster, culminating in a deterioration into a broken skeleton is a wild ride to watch. The film notoriously upset director John Hughes, who had just released the film "Weird Science" a few years earlier. Seeing as how both films are quite similar in premise as hip and trendy Frankenstein adaptations, John attempted to sabotage its release. It was clear which one of the two had better execution (no pun intended), and John was extremely bitter. Unfortunately, his plan worked and the abysmal marketing and confusing name changes caused Best in the Class to slip into obscurity.

Fun fact! A promotional music video (much in the same vein as Oingo Boingo's "Weird Science") was also created. Unfortunately, only the song remains, as its original upload was copyright struck, allegedly by John Hughes himself. Listen to it here!

Final Strike (2002)

This iconic action thriller is finally available to purchase from Los Deselatos! Though its sequel is more critically acclaimed, the first Final Strike film lays the groundwork with style and class. The story follows assassin Davis Preston's quest for meaning. The film excels in its editing, pacing, and visual effects, and notoriously difficult stunts that almost cost the life of its star. Most remember it for the wild stories from it's production, including many near death experiences. It seems that even in real life, our boy Davis always escapes the cold hands of death!
